Finance functions and precision

(This is a premium feature)

The precision setting is very important in the financial functions.  When you select a precision other than Float, the running balances are each rounded to the requested precision.  When you store values in the various memory and financial registers, the number stored is the current balance on the tape.  In other words, the value in the register is rounded to the selected precision.

In most cases, this does not cause a major difference in results.  However, the interest rate is particularly sensitive to precision, so ActiCalc automatically forces the interest rate to have the full precision, regardless of the setting you select.

As you change precision settings, you may notice small differences in the calculated values.  This is normal.  For the most precise results, select Float.
