Adding Machine Mode

Adding machine mode is selected by pressing the adding machine icon on the toolbar.  While in adding machine mode, you do not enter decimal points for any numbers you are adding and subtracting.  ActiCalc automatically inserts a decimal point according to your local currency.  For example, if you are using dollars, you would enter "123" to represent one dollar and 23 cents.

In the example at the left, we entered 123+45678=.  Notice that we entered no decimal points.  This feature uses the number of decimal digits configured in your Windows settings.

The adding machine mode applies only to the original entry of data. If you double-click cells to update them, you must enter the decimal point in the appropriate place.

To return to normal data entry, press the Adding Machine button again.
