Tutorial Introduction
You can begin using ActiCalc immediately. When you load the program, you will see a screen that has three important areas. The first area to concentrate on is the upper-left, which appears as a simple 4-function calculator. Indeed, you can totally ignore the other sections and no harm will come to you. Of course, by doing so, you will miss out on some great productivity opportunities. We'll dig into all three sections below, but let's first get introduced to the basics.
The second section occupies the right half of the screen. This is the IntelliTape, which is what makes ActiCalc unique. With the IntelliTape, you can create, edit, and replicate powerful sets of calculations. While IntelliTape provides a simple "programming" scheme, you don't need to learn any programming skills to take advantage of it. If you can operate a 4-function calculator, you can take advantage of IntelliTape. Below the calculator pad is a section called advanced functions. Here you find three tabbed panes, one for memory registers, one containing a collection of scientific functions, and one for financial functions.
