Playing the sound clips

In order to play these sound clips, your computer must have a media player that is capable of playing MP3 files.  If your computer is not set up for that, click here for more instructions.  If your computer is capable of handling MP3 files, then continue with these instructions.

The exact procedure for playing the MP3 files depends on your hardware platform, browser type and release, and your media player.  The first step in any case is to click on any of the speaker icons () next to several of the musical selections.  This may initiate a transfer of the sound file immediately.  These files range in size from about 150 KB to 800 KB, so it may take a few minutes on a modem connection.

You may be prompted to make a choice of what to do with the sound clip file.  With Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may see a message like this:

Click the option to open the file from its current location.  After clicking the OK button, the download should proceed.  After the data transfer completes, the browser should launch your media manager to play the sound clip.  If this does not complete successfully, you may not have an adequate media manager.  For additional ideas, click here.
